Review: The characters in this book were great. I liked everyone from Frieda to Christopher – even Lulu started to grow on me by the end of the book. Although she wasn’t all that smart her actions came from the right place and she genuinely wanted to help Nikki.

I thought the theme of identity in this book was great, especially since it’s a YA book, and I think for teens it’s such a big part of themselves. At least I know it was for me when I was in junior high and high school. There’s so much pressure to have the “right” clothes, body, car, phone, all the stuff that supposedly makes you you, when really it’s not really any of that stuff, it’s what’s inside that really makes up who you are.

I think having a “whole body transplant” would be tough for the most put together adult, let alone for a sixteen year old. Especially going from the life of a typical teen to that of a supermodel who’s constantly being hounded by the paparazzi and young fans demanding autographs.

I really hope that Nikki and Christopher end up together – they would compliment each other so well, maybe even more than before the change happened. Christopher is able to give Nikki the taste of being a normal person, doing normal stuff. She doesn’t have to worry about any industry stuff when she’s around him, she can truly be herself. Christopher doesn’t have the same expectations of her that other people have.

I will definitely be reading the nest book in this series, Being Nikki.
